Peptide storage chart
How to keep each compound before and after mixing, with the source for each.
The general rules
- Sealed freeze-dried powder keeps longest in the freezer, and for shorter periods in the fridge. Keep it dark and dry.
- Once mixed with bacteriostatic water, keep the vial in the fridge at 2 to 8 °C, away from light, and never freeze it. Multi-dose vials are typically thrown out 28 days after the first puncture (USP 797).
- Mixed with sterile water, which has no preservative, a vial is single use.
- Throw out a mixed vial that is cloudy, has particles or has changed color, or that has been frozen. Copper peptides are normally clear blue.

Label means the storage comes from an approved product’s label or instructions. Community means common practice for research peptides, which have no label.

Traveling with mixed vials
- TSA allows medically necessary liquids over 3.4 ounces in reasonable quantities, and you must declare them at the checkpoint.
- Unused syringes are allowed when they’re with injectable medication, and you must declare them too.
- Ice packs, freezer packs and gel packs used to keep medicine cool may go through screening frozen, partly frozen or melted.
- Keep vials in carry-on bags; checked holds can get very cold or warm. An insulated case with a cold pack helps keep a vial cool on the way.
- Customs rules differ from country to country, and some countries treat unapproved peptides as prescription-only or prohibited imports. Check your destination’s rules before you go.
