Assumes a new vial is mixed when the current one can’t cover a full dose, and that two vials are never combined in one draw. 4 mg is left in the last vial.

Pick the water before you mix. Once it’s mixed, the strength is fixed. Check that your vial has room for larger volumes.

How the math works

strength = 5 mg × 1,000 ÷ 2 mL = 2,500 mcg/mL
volume = 250 mcg ÷ 2,500 mcg/mL = 0.1 mL
units = 0.1 mL × 100 = 10 units

This calculator does arithmetic. It doesn’t know your health, what’s actually in the vial, or whether a dose is right for you.
